PVC compression couplings are a type of specialty coupling that are used to join two pipe ends without threads. PLEASE NOTE standard compression couplings are only for use in low pressure applications. For example, they work great for repairing leaks or breaks in the irrigation lines that lead to the sprinklers because they require no cement or glue and as a result they can be applied in a wet or even submerged environment. They should not be used for a higher pressure water supply line. They should NEVER be used in higher pressure situations, like water supply lines.
